General:
A-SCAN instrument is used to find the IOL (Intra Ocular Lens) power of an eye before the Cataract surgery.
Description:
A-SCAN instrument has a transceiver probe which transmits and receives a pulse of 10 MHz in order to calculate the axial length of the patient's eye. Five different values are taken and its average is calculated in order to get the axial length of the eye. Each value is freezed individually.

Interfaces:
A mini-thermal printer is interfaced; PS/2 keyboard is connected to enter the details of the patients (such as date of testing, age, name etc.). Provisions are given to transfer the data to PC through RS-232 interface . All the datas are displayed in the Monochrome Graphical Display.

A-Scan instrument gives the intraocular lens power calculations for Corneal Transplantation , cataract removal and intraocular lens implantation .
